Have you heard the current concern about travel to Mars? We don't have the tech yet to properly shield the crew from the horrific amount of radiation. Apparently NASA has people who are willing to fly it anyway (shockingly), but it's well WELL outside their current safety guidelines.

Yeah, there's no way we could safely send people to Mars tomorrow. But the radiation problem is not insoluble, it just needs a bit of extra R&D.
