Main:I think I finally realized what it is about fraternities that I hate so much. No, it's not the whole "buying your friends" thing, since membership fees are pretty standard for lots of organizations. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's fairly pathetic, but to each his own

For real.
I get upset with this act they put on for the community-- "look at us, we pick up garbage and donate money to the Children's miracle network, whatever" Not only is there this whole holier than thou bull shit in that respect, but they also have this attitude where they pretend that they don't drink or party like other college students.
It's really stupid.
Additionally, I hate them because they're all media whores that annoy the hell out of my coworkers with their endless calls about how their fucking taco parties and dance hall benefits are newsworthy.
You know there's a story when none of them answer their phones.
(Ie: see Sigma Pi coverage in tomorrow's edition of CM Life. Guaranteed, there will be lots of 'so and so' declined to comment.)

I was required to do community service hours before getting, and i'm still required do a certain number of philanthropy hours and study hours and what not. Some sororities aren't about hazing.
