oddities

I saw the first eight parts of R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet," yes, I watched them, and I enjoyed them. In retrospect I can't but think they could have been a lot better, what with him being the only one singing, there not being any distinctly laid out alternating melodies, and every track sounding almost completely the same; but, though I ( Read more... )

I caught bits and pieces of it... ev'ry one I caught had R. Kelly pointing a gun at somebody. That would usually be a spike in tension in the plot in most instances, but I couldn't tell if it was or not, and I'm betting against it.

no... it was basically the way his character expressed exhasperation. Which somehow made him seem more vulnerable... it was kind of strange. Every time he pulled his gun out it seemed to be out of a kind of unstable mental competence, his anger was mixed with fear when holding the gun... and though this was DIRECTED well, the character doesn't really make any sense.
And now... in retrospect, I defintely was entertained but... other than thinking "man, he does have a good voice," I wasn't thinking "man, this is brilliant." It was more like "man, this is wierd, and funny, and a soap opera." hmmm... yes... i imagine boys my age or younger getting high and waking up having purchased a copy of this staring at the DVD menu screen on their tv and wondering "damn, was I THAT high?"

You know I don't even believe R. Kelly has a gun. But can you believe that one guy was Gay? Didn't see that coming.
