That thing

On the bus to work/at work:

OMG ALL THE IDEAS MUST WRITE
Scrawls down point-form notes in my e-mail drafts
Clear, vivid picture of exactly how things should go

At home in front of the computer:
...

...

...time to check FB again?

I did this the other day, except it was more like so:

2:30 AM: wake up, compose several paragraphs of delicious torture porn in perfectly lucid prose. Too tired to get up and write it down.

7:30 AM: Wake up again. Remember that there was delicious torture porn in your brain five hours ago. Vaguely recall a few images and maybe a phrase or two. Curse.

It's the lurid prose bit that gets me. It's perfectly formed in my brain, and then hours later when I go to write it down, the lurid prose is gone.

(It is kind of torture porn, though. Well, it's torture. And then porn. The two aren't actually all that connected.)

So. Frustrating. Why do brains DO that?

Because brains are evil. This is the only explanation.
