Well that's my employer in the Stone Age, frankly.
The provisions for "reasonable accommodation" wouldn't meet your minimum requirements, and probably shouldn't be acceptable. But there it is. The LGBT community have been fighting for equity in my workplace for friggin' decades.

I think if this person was important to you then you could explain it in real life - or perhaps point them to this article.
But far better those options than trying to explain through tweets.
