Doing okay. 2020 has been challenging, between multiple work issues (still at the same employer, but had a number of coworkers leave and no replacements hired), Covid (and the state governor being stupid), just the general shitshow of politics (and a number of people losing their briskets about everything). We also had a kid, who is growing like a weed and needs a lot of attention (but he is healthy). The inlaws moved up to be closer, though they still working on selling their old house.

My workplace laid a lot of people off during the first Covid wave and not everyone has been brought back (I was laid off for three weeks).

Congrats on the healthy youngun'!

Supportive in-laws can be a good thing...what is the housing market like down there? (Around here the average detached house price is over $700,000CDN).

Yeap, it is nice when the in-laws can watch him, though it hasn't been happening much (as they are still quaranting a bit after the move and are unpacking (basically, they have their own stuff going on in the short term)).

The housing market is hot. Inventory is down, prices are up and most listings get multiple offers within a week of being listed (if they are priced right). But, housing is still a bit more affordable than in your neck of the woods. As newer ranches in the 1.5k sq ft range are mid 300s. And if you want to go older, you can get a 1200-1300 sq ft ranch for about 200k, and there are other older houses as well.
