I also loved The Wire, but quit after two seasons because Dianne didn't enjoy it. (Too gritty, too many characters, too many plot twists, unsympathetic hero, etc.)

Well I got the quote from the movie, I assume it is in the book too but have only read the first quarter of it. In the movie it is uttered by Johnny Depp`s character as he looks at a Lobster.

i liked the first series of shameless, after that it went a bit.. batty. have you tried 'misfits'? that's bloody marvellous.

i'm reading carl sagan's 'contact' at the moment and enjoying it muchly, it strikes me you might enjoy it also...

We have only just started season two of Shamless so we shall see I guess. Never heard of Misfits but I will see if I can find it. Also will try and check out Contact sometime. Thanks.
