My final history project is to write a 10 page paper proposing a new monument for Richmond. It should be based on a person/idea/event that is rarely recognized in museums and history books, like reconstruction or massive resistance. I've been feeling like writing letters. It's something I should do more often. I'm the type of person who puts off writing thank-you notes until it's so late as to be noticably rude.
