A Morbid Taste for Bones

This is a big post, thus I have hidden it behind a cut. Some of you might find it quite interesting, particularly athnor. Overall it is an article from the guardian speaking about a pagan movement demanding the bones of their ancestors....i.e. anything pre-Christian.... to be returned to them from the museums. I heard after I posted this that the group of Druids who put themselves forward did not infact represent the majority. It's very annoying when that happens because people like that only add to the negative reputation of pagans. The Guardian website also has a comments section, and a large number of people had written derogatory comments about Paganism as a whole.

Group polemics aside, CoBDO's views basically follow the following thought process (posted below) - one that, we feel, is complimentary to many ideas within the rainbow of modern Druidry. For example, the idea of the spirit body being connected in some way to the physical remains of our ancestors does not interfere greatly in a belief of spirit living in an Otherworldly Avalon/heaven. It's simnply a different way of thinking. If anything, it promotes the holistic idea of animism. What do you all think ( ... )
