The drive over to Wolfram and Hart was made in tense silence. Each of us trying to absorb what had happened. Angel. He killed Gunn. Our friend. Closer, he was like family even after which had happened between us. Finding Cordelia, with Faith of all people. And there's more going on there that meets the eye. Well, most eyes that is

On paper, word of mouth... The words are the same. The effect? Stranger. Technically, I'm not part of his little business - haven't been since my body got hijacked by Jasmine - but... I know what he's doing.
I know where he is, that place in his head that he promised me - outright promised me - that he wouldn't go again.
"See? I knew it," I say, frowning. Maybe it's not what people want to hear but hey, when has that ever stopped me? "He's gone over to the other side 'cause the pesky humans he works with? Can't handle the *airquote* 'coming darkness' - it's such bullshit." I'm finding it hard to be sympathetic right now. "And look at that, 'You all know I'm not one for words' seems like he was a manpire with lots of words when he was whaling on that dog-person he beat up..."

"The coming darkness?" I snorted loudly. Sorry, but did anyone actually remember who I was? The bad naughty little slayer? The straight up killer? Soul Boy could take his darkness and shove it right up his ass. Cause he knew I'd wanna help, hell all his friends wanted to help. After all his little speeches to me about doin' the right thing and needing people? Now he had to go and pull a stunt like this?
"Where would he be now?" I directed the question at Wes cause I figured he'd know better than anyone. Cor had been sorta out of the business for awhile and Wes and Angel were buds, coworkers, butt buddies...whatever.

I shrug pointedly, letting the implication hang in the air. If they can't figure out that I'm talking about the White Room then they are more stupid than I'd thought.
"Question is, what are you going to do about it?"

I can tel all of us are angry, though some hide it better then others. Not Angelus, Spike had said. Odd how I'm beginning to see this to be true. This really did seem as something Angel would do. What I couldn't understand though is why.
"She's talking about the white room," I say for those who hadn't gotten that already. I'm sure they all knew. Wait, maybe not. Faith and Cordelia were on unfamiliar territory here. "Angel is in the white room. The question is how do we get in there?" There was no question in my mind that we all wanted to confront him. Let's hope my mind isn't playing tricks on me.

In fact? I have a whole list, but now's not the time.
"Okay, so for the people who've never taken a trip to the White Room? What is it and why are we going there?" I swear, if this some trick? I'll ring Lilah's neck, never mind Angel's. "Wasn't that where Angel went to find Connor or something way back when I was really in my body?"
