I'm settled.

January: well i am so lazy: merry xmas, happy new year, all that
a lot has happened! or rather a lot has not happened, as it's vacation. and that is wonderful.

February: no subject
so i'll retract my earlier statement, the one about senior spring being oh-so-awesome. my grandfather died this friday. i don't want to say too much about it. it's been a really rough week. we took the train to new york on monday and for the first time ever the city wasn't beautiful to me.

March: take THAT, stephen blackpool!
that subject is just a bit optimistic, as i have yet to finish my hard times essay.

April: good weekend, eh?
saturday i went to boston with a bunch of kids (a BUNCH of kids-- kimmy, andrew, joseph, renee, katie, lulu and her nameless boyfriend, among others) for dim sum with sallam and arnaldo.

May: i really wish i had made it to brown spring weekend to see talib.
things are going quite well, even if the weather is somewhat messy.

June: 'Cause I'ma...
So anyway. Things have been good. I've been resting.

July: A veces pienso que tú nunca vendrás... pero te quiero y te tengo que esperar.
I really don't want Arnaldo to go back to Puerto Rico.

August: Oh Shanandoah
No more cheek updates, I am healed.

September: La Camisa Negra
I can't help but feel that I'm one of the only people here who isn't quite comfortable yet.

October: African cab drivers are the best
Last night after the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe (which was fantastic, by the way) we caught a cab to go back up to Morningside. As we passed a particularly poorly-dressed teenage girl (mini-skirt in 50-degree weather, too-tight halter top exposing love handles, etc.), the driver chuckled, "Hmm... maybe she goin' back to New Jersey... heh, heh."

November: What up, NYC
I finally successfully downloaded Aladdin. Fantastic.

December: Boring again.
I have my sociology final tomorrow. I don't know. It might be okay. Psych is on Monday, and that will be absolutely fine. American Urban Politics on Wednesday will not be fun. Here's to reading/memorizing a semester's worth of articles. Wonderful.

I just got back from walking my dog in Lexington. Suburbs are dark and creepy at night. In most respects I'm really glad that my mom is moving back to Cambridge.

Break has been going well. My exams were alright. I guess I didn't fail my Psych final after all. I did absurdly well in my classes but I haven't gotten my Urban Politics grade back yet, so we'll see about that one. It might be a B+; I'm hoping for an A-. An A is plausible but not likely. The big surprise of the semester came with my grade in Ellsberg's class--she gave me an A+! I love Ellsberg so. It's gotten to the point where I'm like a little Ellsberg disciple. I edit papers paying attention to the Ellsberg Style Sheet. I worship the serial comma. I loathe to be verbs. I seek conciseness above all. Etcetera.

I went to Providence a few days ago to visit Lily. I SHOPPED A LOT. AHHH. Prov is bad for me. I always indulge--I eat too much, I smoke too much, and I spend too much money. What an egreeeegious waste. But it feels so good.

Other than that I've just been chillin' and I haven't seen many people yet. I saw Jess Green, Matt, and Friederike, and that's pretty much it. I went to Connecticut for a night to do family stuff. I've only actually been home for one night since I got back from school.

I'm thinking about going to Northhampton next week to stay with my cousin Aquila. She has her own apartment now and it would be fun.

Matt might be coming over tonight for some Super Smash Brothers. Yesssss. I'm thinking about stealing my brother's N64 and bringing it to school so I can play it on my little little television. That's what Brujis did. Then again, that's why Bruj never does any work. Hmm. We'll see.

This break might go by faster than I thought it would.
