Did you ever see that movie Clash of the Titans?
Oh, with the greek mythology stuff? Yeah, yeah, I saw that.
Yeah, I don't wanna sound like a queer or nothin', but I think unicorns are kick-ass!

Watched Orgazmo and most of the extras on the DVD last night. I think I like that better than anything else that Stone and Parker have done. Just a ( Read more... )

That Stephen King book was really good, I thought. He sounds exactly like my uncle, who is a novelist. The last time I saw my uncle, I was moaning about writing a book, and he said to me, "Here's the secret for writing a 300-page novel in 30 days..." I was all "ooo, how how how?"....he said, "Write ten pages a day." Har.

Ha ha ha ha ha...well there ya go. Maybe one day I'll be able to give such wise advise to others.

Yeah, I remember you singing the praises of this a few years ago. You were all like, "Oo oo, have you read the part about him whiping his ass with poison ivy yet?" What kinds of stuff does your uncle write?

Did that book help at all? Thus far I haven't really learned anything that I didn't really already know.

My uncle writes mysteries. He wrote 3 or 4 kind of young-adult books when I was little, and then he didn't publish anything for a whole bunch of years, and now he just published a new book last year that's a murder mystery or something for adults (I haven't read it yet, which is very bad of me). (He's Stephen Schwandt...you can see his books on Amazon and shit. Also www.stephenschwandt.com).

I'm just fascinated by what any successful writer has to say about his or her 'process'...I find it all really helpful. I've re-read that book a lot of times, not so much for practical advice (which, as you've pointed out, is pretty common-sense), but for inspiration and stuff. Like, his stories about getting rejected by publishers, not having an agent, all that stuff...you realize that even somebody who is a multi-kajillionaire writer had to start SOMEWHERE, you know? Anyhoo.

He looks like my Daddy with a beard. On accounts of them being brothers and all.

When they were young, everybody thought they were twins.

Oh man! Orgazmo is great. You should love it. I did. How it gets an NC-17 rating is beyond me. I guess that you can only show a dildo onscreen for so long before your picture can't be rated R or something. Either that, or it's a big no-no to make fun of the mormon religion. I think that you'll like it. That still trips me out that you rented, and liked, Sex and Lucia. No one that I know has ever heard of, much less seen, that film. That's cool.

Hey send me $15 and I'll just give you my copy of Matter + Form. As soon as I get paid Friday my wallet is going into a temporary starvation period so that I might go to England and not be broke while I'm over there.
