Does anyone else think that it's bizarre that we base our entire sense of time on the life of some random dude that I don't even believe in?

you know, you could start using the jewish calendar. after searching online, i found that it's 5767. i think this is based on something in the bible, maybe from adam and eve?? which i don't believe in either. but 5767 sounds so much cooler than 2006.
