Mac repair update: turns out my computer was still under repair warranty, and the kernel panic thing had to do with the airport.  So I got mac to fix the airport for free!  And now i finally have my computer back!  Thanks everyone so much for the help

Tis the season dude; Canadian winter struck this last week and now it is windy and dark most of the time. And the workload just ramped up 5 times. But survive we all do, somehow.

Speaking of moral boosts, I would like to talk/chat/morse-code at some point in the nearer future. Are you around at all, or has work eaten all your time?

oh dear john! i had a feeling you may have needed a morale boost when you IMed me. I'm really sorry I couldn't chat at the time--I think at that moment I had 26 minutes to write a paper on some opera and I was on a school computer. I don't think I have your current number, can you send it to me? That way I'll call when I get a break and hope my break collides with one of yours. Work is totally killing me and I basically do not sleep or relax, except this week, when I utterly burnt out, slacked off for a couple hours, and then reaped the evil consequences by getting reamed out in a rehearsal. har har har. but you're right, we all survive somehow, so there it is.
Been thinking bout you and wondering how canada is. I imagine you are somewhere under a pile of books and snow at this point but I hope you are still inspired and surviving. We shall speak/chat/real-time-carrier-pidgeon soon.
