I knew about the no-pants thing (it was the same dress code at Lebanon High School til about, well, 1970 or 71, since Mom recalls being able to wear pants during the end of her high school career, she's class of 71), but not the dads in daughters' dorms thing. My dad helped me move into my dorm and all he needed to do was write his name on a sign-in sheet. Oh, how times change.

And I'd have thought that Kent kids would be like "Oh, you're not into equal rights for women? Not groovy, baby" and not hang out with folks. But hey, it was a different time. Also I would've probably joined SDS.

I like how you can just find-replace 'communism' with terrorism and the Port Huron thing is, like, the same. Maybe things don't change all that much?

My school (Boston University) brought SDS back my junior year and I was a member!

BU was known as Berkeley East back in the 60s because we were very radical LOL. If you want some cool readings about it, check out Famous Long Ago, written by the guy in my icon :)
