Cory Doctorow used to like living in the UK, and London in particular. Unsurprisingly, once the Tories got in this year, he took a long hard look at his life and did some thinking. And he and his wife decided they couldn't really face living here anymore with their kids. So they left for LA

He is, in fairness, kidding himself if he thinks America is an improvement.

But LA will be lovely for him so long as he has tons of money and doesn't mind living in a poisoned environment surrounded by paranoid cops and armed nutters.

The argument for leaving London behind is very strong though.

Yeah - while he's not quite taking the most pessimistic view of the London/UK trajectory, it does seem a very optimistic take on the US's!

Very much so. One wonders just how far the US is from erupting into race war if things carry on their present trajectory.
