My boyfriend, you know the one that I won't be seeing for six months, surprised me this weekend. My entire family was in on it. He had planned on coming up to Boston to see me and then the whole week before he kept hedging and saying he might not be able to make it because of work stuff. I remember my first meeting with Mr. Robert clearly...

He in the lobby of the Little Building heading outside (maybe down the stairs) and I was coming in. I saw an Iron Maiden t-shirt and said something along the lines of "nice shirt, dude." And so it began.

My first memory of him was when he got those first calf tattoos and he was just standing in the hallway wearing an Iron Maiden shirt and his friend had a Young Ones shirt (it's a British TV show). I tink my first exchange with him was when he came into my room (apparently he'd gone in earlier when I hadn't been there) and a minute later he barrels in yelling about how awesome my Judas Priest poster was. And then the next time I really hung out with him was like 6am in the common room when you were both listening to Avantasia and I came and just sat down hah.

I think those brief words I spoke to Rob is the only time I've ever approached a "stranger" like that. I'm glad I did because more than one good friendship came of it. Although, knowing Rob, I'm sure we would've crossed paths eventually. I'm currently in an empty apartment too (but only for two weeks) so I kind of know how you're feeling. It's a bummer, that's for sure.

Yeah two weeks is still a chunk of time. With us, we don't know HOW long the time period is and everything is on a "maybe," maybe he can make it here again this weekend, maybe I can see him the weekend after, maybe he'll be here until October. Not knowing for sure is what's eating my brain heh.
