I thought I'd remember everything that was said and done that day and maybe find a way to tell it sometime. But I didn't. I forgot it all, or nearly. What I do remember is that I heard our name used a lot that afternoon, my dad's name and mine. But I knew they were talking about my dad. i had to read that story freshman year. have you read his poetry? it's all super personal and intriguing. a lot about being raised by an alcoholic then turning into one and his kids and it's just like reading an autobiography that's poignant yet out of chronological order, anyway its good stuff. but you probably already know that.

yeah, i've read most of his stuff. credit to yr freshman teacher who gave you guys r. carver to read.. most of my professors here are lame^2 & give horrible books as required reading. some of his poems i'm not too fond of but most i really like. his emphasis on concrete language is pretty right on..

ramble ramble on raymond carver when i need to do my real homework.
