I can't stand the fact that everybody changes. As a matter of fact, I hate the fact that people change. Because when people change, they aren't even the same person, they are a different flavor wrapped in the same package. A change from a watermelon Jollyrancher to a Grape Jolly rancher. And nobody likes grape jolly ranchers.

It's not people changing that you hate. It's when people change and leave almost everyone else behind.

And that's kind of what happens, regardless if they grow and change for their own better, that's just the outcome over an extended period of everything changing. I'm not saying that they should have the same mentality as they had when they were 13, but when mentalities change, over an extended period of time, personalities change with them. I guess that might be how I see it.

That's not really what I meant. I just meant you would want to change along with them.

i like grape jolly ranchers.

also, change isn't bad at all. people live and learn and grow and move on. there'd be no progress if everyone kept the same mentality they had when they were, say, 13-years-old.

Matt, this is Meredith. Change can be good, but I think you mean the kind of change that is for the worse, which sucks. When you want a watermelon jolly rancher, grape just won't do.
