Future

So we have no idea what our future holds at the moment, or even if we will be moving to Arizona this summer or not. I just finished a huge post on our blog getting out my thoughts on this predicament that I just decided I'm going to copy and paste in this post. I would love to hear any of your 2 cents, so if you are bored and have an extra minute ( Read more... )

I really feel for you guys.

I think you really need to put effort into being open-minded to the 1-5 years away from Mesa possibility. And when you think about it, remember the good things. You'd be even that much more reliant on one another. How wonderful would that be for you two?

And I know how important family is to both of you.
I know how hard it would be for you to raise your girl without your family right there with her. But I really don't think that's going to hurt her appreciation and love for them at all. Not with you two as parents.

You're doing the right thing. You're praying. You're pondering. You guys just want to do the right thing. Right now, that's all you can do.
He'll take care of you. He'll make it perfect.

Wow. That is quite the predicament that you are in right now. Aside from the monetary benefits of the job choices I feel like there might be other aspects of it that you might put into consideration. Which job would allow Robert more flexibility for spending time with the family, going to their various extracurricular events, going on vacations and such? Which job would leave Robert feeling more fulfilled at the end of the day? Which job would give Robert better tools for serving others and building the kingdom?

I know you guys love your families a lot so it is a really tough decision but you never know what lessons you would learn from each adventure. Only Heavenly Father knows that and I know that He will guide you as you listen to Him.

I totally agree with those questions that Lizzy asked. As I was reading, I thought, "it is hard to live away from your families for so long, but think of the possibilities!" As cliche as that sounds, I think it would be such an adventure to move somewhere new and meet new people and "build the kingdom" as Lizzy put so well. But like YOU said, Heavenly Father comes first, and whatever happens will happen the way it should. Both of you are close enough with the Lord that you will make the right decision. I have no doubt in that. I also think both of you are strong enough individually, and as one for anything! :)
