Not dead yet

Well, don't time just fly when you don't keep a sharp eye on it!  I have been shamefully absent and/or way too quiet lately.  But, RL just keeps on rolling, so I just have to keep rolling with it.

Any whoo, I decided to post a piece of an extremely long and unfinished story I'm working on.  This part can stand alone, all you need to know is in my ( Read more... )

I love this!

I've read "Xander building Buffy's coffin" stories, but this one has all the elements of a great story. Introspection, pain, love, collapse, friendship, banter. My heart aches, but I want more of these two men being manly and supportive.

Good work, girl! If you'd like me to do a bit of beta clean up drop me a line. I can work on it late tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing!

Umm, is that you, mistress tien? If not please forgive, but you're anonymous so...? And sure, I'll take some beta anytime!

But, no matter who you are I'm happy you liked. I've got a million little pieces written, just getting them all together and coherent is the problem. 'Time' is the problem (not my laziness, nope, not at all). ~g~

Ah, honey, you really need to publish your stuff more. That was lovely. So much great detail about such a painful and intimate moment.

I'm on the run now, but I will come back and reread and say more when I get more time at the end of the week, but I think you need to be very proud of this.

Proud! Lovely! *puffs out chest*

Thanks love, I appreciate the sweet words. I've been having kinda a rough time RL-wise and I have so fallen down on my own feedback. (How far back *can* you skip on the friends page? ~g~) But I have caught most everything you've put up and loved all of it. And how cool was it that you had Xan fall for a girl named Christina, which happens to be my very own name? Very Cool. ~BG~

Thanks again for the encouragment, C

Excuse me, just butting in here because I happen to have recent experience (as Sparrow knows, because I moaned at her a lot)...
How far back *can* you skip on the friends page?
I got to skip=902, at which point there were no more. The rest of the page was blank. I don't know if that changes, depending on what style you use, but I kind of doubt it - it seems more likely to be a basic database function.

You had me hooked from the third paragraph, with the default image of Dawn, now blurred, and the observation that no matter how young she was, she was a grown up now, because she was 'the last one standing'. But with the Buffy paragraph, you surpass that, with the tiny incidental, oh so important details of the image of a person (incidentally, does Buffy ever say 'calculator' on screen? If she does, I want to go check it out. *g*)

I loved Spike betraying his Victorian roots, "Right then, can't stand to see a man doing all this namby-pamby caterwauling. 'S not...manly." after Xander's thought that men could cry, that it was allowed.

This was all good. And it is part of an extremely long and unfinished story????? *looks hopeful* So there is more? And you will post it?

I really enjoyed this. The voices were really nice and the balance of snark and comfort was perfect. I'll look forward to more.

Oh and....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Hon,
Here's WISHING YOU
A WONDERFUL DAY

I want Spike to be British, but not *too* British, he's my biggest block when it comes to writing, trying to make him sound *right*.
Well, I have no qualification, apart from being British, but if you are ever worried whether a word is British or American, drop me a line and I'll see if I can help? My email is on my profile page.
