yeah, my mom thinks that i'm pretty pretentious about it too - but i don't ever even lecture - if she asks me why, i tell her, but i NEVER criticize them for eating animal products, but she still gets mad at me for being all high and mighty. i don't get it. i try to explain it's just a choice for me that i think is right for me, but i think she gets all defensive because deep down she knows i'm right :)

exactly, that is what I think too. People pull the pretentious card because they are scared. They have to quickly write it off so they don't question their own motives. I never lecture either, but I offer information. I also use my life as an example.
