Parent Orientation Program. June 18, 2004. Friday. Blessed Trinity School.

Good Evening Parents, teachers and friends,

Just last term, one of my professors in College of Saint Benilde asked the whole class:

"What do you consider as your second home?"

While others answered their province, the mall, their bestfriend's house, the beach... i slowly raised my hand and proudly told the whole class,

"I consider my high school, Blessed Trinity School, my second home."

Having spend 10+ years of my life in BTS may have been a factor. But you know what?it's really not how long i stayed here that matters. its the PEOPLE, the EXPERIENCE, and the OPPORTUNITIES that this school has offered me.

The teachers, staff, and the students (for example) are like family. i can truly say that everybody is genuinely concerned for each other. be it about our grades, about the interschool competitions we join in (which i'd like to add that we have most often won), and even in our personal lives *ahem, ahem* ...even in our love life. kaya naman hindi makakaila na ang bonding ng estudyante at guro dito ay kakaiba.

Also, i can never forget BTS' motto which for me is one of the most admirable things in this school.

"Commitment to  Academic Excellence and Value Formation."

This goes to show that Trinitarians are taught and expected  to be holistic individuals, not just be knowledgable about things contained in books but also be "a person for others." now who wouldnt want their child to be like that?

in closing, let me leave you with a thought i made when i keft BTS for college...

Choosing Blessed Trinity School is one of the best decisions i have made

...and so you did too.

hearing the parents' applause after my speech was the most incredible feeling. ^__^ they even clapped during the people-experience-opportunity part. aww, grabe.

too bad jr wasnt there. that moment could have been perfect.. : (  he chose to play ragnarok in his stepbrother's computer shop than to watch me say my speech which may i just emphasize doesnt always happen! hmp! nagtatampo parin talaga ako sa kanya kahit ang cute-cute niya nung saturday... and nagtatampo parin talaga ako sa kanya kahit na binilan ko siya nung ragnarok guide he's been dreaming about... harrumph! >: /

jem's debut was ok. well, actually is was quite shocking. im still unsure if i should post this in public but what the hell, its my lj anyway..

during the last part kasi when the debutant says her thank you's, bigla niyang sinabi: teka lang po, may gusto lang po akong sabihin sa parents ko. ..she started callilng ALL her PAST boyfriendSSSS na maski isa, hindi yata nalaman ng parents niya, or ng dad niya lang yata. unfortunately, and this may be a shock to all those who knows jr, JEM and MY JR had a past. a shallow past. but she included him anyway in her long list kaya lang ang masakit dun, si jr yung first boyfriend niya. ganun din naman si hunnie.. Jem asked my hunnie to stand up "to be recognized". ayaw sana ni jr dahil:

1. nahihiya siya sa dad and mom ni jem
2. ikinakahiya niya yung kung anumang nagkaron sila kasi he was coerced lang (according to him) by his friends
3. nahihiya siya sakin

he nevertheless stood up and Jem's dad shook his hands. (i didnt really look kasi if i did, it would give me nightmares for days.) basta ang alam ko, mr. jacildo was till smiling. but when it came to sixth or so boyfriend ...well.

we were talking about it the whole trip back home. hindi namin alam kung anong magiging reaction. hanggang ngayon hindi ko alam. pero im not mad at jem, not even feeling any selos. its her party and she can do whatever she wants. nakakagulat lang talaga. ps. (peace tayo ah? hindi naman siguro masamang mag-react sa mga nangyari...)

...

marc, btw, has an lj na rin. i havent read it yet kasi kakabasa ko lang nung text niya. he's been really trying to get my blockmates' (..hmmm, whats the term nga ba?) blessing? attention? ah! basta, andun na yung idea.

off to work for my ordev paper.
