It's all the wrong I've done and all the wrong I'll do

I have a day off to enjoy tomorrow. There's a game in the evening, but until then I don't plan on moving at all. My feet ache so much from a weekend in projection. I was running the 8-14 side both days, which comprises almost entirely of Shrek and Eclipse showings. I am jealous of Tony, Lewis and Joe. They all got to start Inception shows and ( Read more... )

I like that you mentioned the not-getting-them-like-you-do thing, because I wrote a poem recently about how when I write, most people don't mean it like I do. It's kind of a self-righteous sentiment I guess, but I was thinking about how so many people will be like, "Yeah, I write!" but for me, writing isn't just writing, it's different.

The nearest book to me? The 3-in-1 Graham Greene books I finished recently. I didn't like the Scarlet Letter, so good luck. When I was younger I used to trick my parents into buying me books a lot. Ooh, Maybe I'll try to find that China Mieville book and read it at the same time as you. :D (I love books. you knew that though I'm sure.)

Oh and yes, Toy Story 3 was awesome. The sequel rule just doesn't apply to Pixar.

That won't work; I read so slowly these days. The City & The City was a fairly short book that I really enjoyed yet still it took a week, maybe two, to finish. If we started UnLunDun at the same time, the next day you'd be all "Hey, what did you think of it?" and I'd reply "The first chapter is pretty good."

Nearest book is toss-up between Tattered Fates (Dark Heresy adventure) and Mutants and Masterminds: Noir and AD&D Book of Lairs 2 and The Esoterror Factbook and Kate Mosse: Labyrinth. Guess which one of those I'm not reading?

Is it Tattered Fates? I know you've never cared for Games Workshop. Actually, I've heard quite good things about Labyrinth. I'll be interested to hear Mary's opinion of it.

I hated - absolutely loathed - The Scarlet Letter. I usually enjoy classic literature, but that one just...ugh. You know how you said no one likes Pixar like you do? If you also hate The Scarlet Letter, then I am telling you now: you won't hate it like I do. If it was a person, I'd slap it. If it was a chicken or cow, I would ignore my vegetarianism for a day and eat it, just so it wouldn't exist anymore.

Also, you are so right about Up. I love that movie. Love, love, love.

The closest book to me isn't a novel. It's this book about myths and fairy tales and stuff. I have a set of them that I brought over from the US. Each one focuses on something different - water creatures, giants, etc. This one is about wizards and witches. I got them from a friend of my mom's when I was in high school. She is incredibly, insanely religious, and she gave the set away because they scared her. Seriously. She thought the pictures in the water creatures one, in particular, were "of the Devil."

The nearest novel to me is Thief of Time ( ... )
