Okay, so! Shawn is not a psychic. He does, however, have a photographic memory and mad observation and deduction skills. This means he can-- possibly-- tell a lot about your character just by looking at them. Obviously, there is a godmod line that could be crossed here. I don't want to do that! But I also don't want to tone down Shawn's ( Read more... )

He'll probably notice Toboe's not really human quickly. Stuff I usually don't bother adding, like how his footfalls (/prints, when somewhere they'd be left) are clearly not human, his shadow is sometimes wrong, and how anything he's picked up and put down may have wolfie teef marks on it.

I'm sure there's something I should tell him about Marco, but I dunno what :/ Marco's usually, if not outright lieing, not telling the whole truth, often acting and is paranoid, but he's become very good at hiding those things due to being undercover for years.

I am lazy and going to LJLogin is just so much work and only one of these accounts is paid, so I'm going to do both my characters in one comment. SO TL;DR OMG I'M SORRY.

Major Kusanagi. Because she's a cyborg, she has a lot of small strange behaviors:
  • Looks like a normal Japanese woman except for the blue eyes.
  • Speaks English extremely fluently but with a slight Japanese accent--unless she's running English language software, in which case she has a generic American accent. (I'll call out the American accent in description if it comes up.)
  • Displays almost no emotion in body language, speech, or facial expression. After learning a bit about her, Shawn will probably be able to put together that this is blunted affect and depersonalization from being a career soldier (and a cyborg, though this may not be as obvious.) She drops to no emotion at all when she kills the emotional processes running in her cyberbrain.
  • Appears to have total recall. (Because she does.)
  • Does not make unnecessary movements. Never shifts her weight, never fidgets ( ... )

OKAY. WELL.

Xanth is an easy person he read. He tends to wear his heart right out on his sleeve. He has a stutter, but that's not from boat-induced trauma - it's from his constant nervousness. He's always uneasy and insecure, and his stance and expression and word choices usually reflect that.

He lives on the fire deck, so he and his clothes probably smell faintly of smoke. I'll probably end up putting an addendum on this, but that's all I can think of for the moment.

I'm just going to do all three of my kids in this one post. JSYK.

Andrew Wells. Possibly the most important thing Shawn might notice when talking to Andrew is that he is a notorious and chronic liar. He'll lie to make himself seem more interesting or "cool" and also to mask the shameful things he's done in his past. He fidgets almost all the time, but he definitely gets even more nervous when he's lying. Also, Andrew is so far in the closet that he himself doesn't even realize he's gay. I don't know how or why you'd ever want to touch on this, but there are times when it's painfully obvious; for instance, he will sometimes mention a male actor he finds rather attractive. Mostly, the lying might be what you want to know about.

Salvador Rallo. Sal has a Kansan accent. He drops the ends/beginnings/middles of words. He's an artist of all forms and likes to test new mediums. Back home, he has six younger sisters and due to this fact, he is overly nurturing and protective of people, having grown up that way. Anything else that could be ( ... )

Remy smells of gin and dyes his hair. He also fidgets when he's thinking, running his hand through his hair, playing with an empty glass and whatnot.
