What if you took the entire industrial and information revolution, which took 250 years and drew upon existing social trends in Northwest Europe, transplanted it into a series of cultures that predated the Roman Empire, and demanded they catch up in a decade or two? You'd probably have to cut some corners somewhere too.

Then again Barrie, I've seen the damage you caused to my bread pan. So it's a toss-up.
