I finished I Know This Much Is True, a 900-pager by Wally Lamb in just days, and I have to say: I don't know if it was the length, or what, but I've never had the impulse to clap after finishing a book. I think I felt the same way on finishing Possession. Having spent what seemed like ages on the hulking monster of a book, the ending didn't disappoint. I felt a sense of completion and satisfaction, even though the fate of the characters is left open to an extent.

The Holy Bible, writers many, author God. I read that book all the way through for the first time this year and it has been the experience of my life. It's gripping, relevent, and has me hooked. I'm doing it again this year.
