Batou? Batou?!
All the communications satellites are down. No net connection at all. That's not possible.
But something has happened. If the American Empire had launched nuclear weapons at Japan, the 'net would have been active and warnings would have been issued to all government personnel to take shelter.
But there's no 'net.
It's going to take some time to figure out what has happened and why all modern technology appears to no longer exist. This could be some sort of strange temporal displacement, or it could be that a hacker has gained full admission to my cyber-brain. (I very much doubt this -- my firewalls are impervious to hacker attacks)
My first order of business, therefore, is to establish my location. There appears to be dwellings approximately 450 m from my location. It is likely these are inhabited and the inhabitants may have information relating to the location of this place.
Once my location is established, I will need to take a full inventory of what is available for use. If I can create an emergency distress beacon, Section 9 should be able to detect it and send a party to rescue me. Unfortunately, I have no doubt that Batou will get a good laugh out of this.
In the meantime, I should devote some processing power to establishing whether or not this is a hack being performed on me. If it is, then steps should be taken to limit the damage caused.
...And I wonder if these singing crickets falling from the sky with umbrellas have anything to do with my situation...
