fact: religion and philosophy address the same issue, namely the lonliness of humanity. religion creates a God and Devil to fill the void, philosophy embraces that void. those people become philosophers. :)

it doesn't have to be a romantic holding onto, it can be a society, an ideology, but to many (myself included) it is love, which has transcended religion (lack of a religion is rarely cause for depression, is it?) but while i am in love i believe in the values and teachings of buddhism, which i view as a philosophy and worldview more than a religion. i'm rambling.
