1. If you had to characterize your character as an animal, what animal would you choose?
Weasel. Totally a weasel. Or a rat.
2. If your character were to characterize himself as an animal, what animal would he choose?
Howhow doesn't harbor many delusions about himself, so he'd probably say weasel too.
3. Is your character a follower, a rebel or a leader?
Follower. He will occasionally grab for power but he'll fall right in line when someone more powerful shows up. Who wants that kind of responsibility.
4. Your character wakes up in his home and smells smoke. What does he do?
Run to safety, then accuse Albert of arson for no good reason.
5. What's the strangest thing your character ever did?
Boy eats some weird stuff, but I think making a working still for corn liquor as a 14 year-old is kind of…questionable.
6. What social niche did your character fill as a child--bully, nerd, cool kid, something else?
Nerd, then bully. He sort of stayed there ever since. On Stacy he's sort of that sarcastic kid in the background.
7. What's the luckiest thing that ever happened to your character?
Not getting eaten by talking coyotes or run over by Drake. Both came very close to happening at the same time.
8. What's the worst stroke of fortune your character ever had?
The entire FAYZ.
9. If your character had nearly unlimited wealth, what would he spend it on?
Cool things. Videogame systems, an awesome house, and so many food reserves it'd feed a third world country.
10. Who's the craziest person your character has ever known, and what was their relationship like?
Drake. Their relationship was…not good. Especially after he and Orc chained Drake up in their basement.
11. How does your character make a living and why did he choose that route?
Drug-dealing to children. Because fuck you, morality.
12. If your character had a theme song, what would it be? (You can either pick a real song or make
one up.)
I tend to slot him up with "Sharp Knife" by Third Eye Blind. It kind of captures that desperate, paranoid desire for protection.
"I wish I was a sharp knife/I'd swing that blade right through my life/careful, you could hurt someone". Lately I've been using "How It Goes" by Matthew Good to get in the mood too. "You know I bruise but being polite never got me nowhere."
13. If someone wrote love poetry to or about your character, how would it read? (Either describe or--
go ahead--give it a shot and write some poetry. It doesn't have to be good.)
Howard isn't exactly the type to inspire love poetry. Or love.
14. How would your character court the person of his dreams?
He seems to mistake affection for 'freakish devotion' so he'd probably just be super-clingy.
15. How does your character prefer to solve minor arguments with others?
A 'why you suck' speech usually suffices. If not, he can passive-aggressively snark at them until they get fed up with him and walk away.
16. What is the worst tragedy your character has ever personally witnessed?
The FAYZ. Pick an incident.
17. If your character were a writer, what type of material would he write?
Comic books.
18. How healthy is your character?
Physically? He's in alright shape for a teenager. He jogs daily because you never know when you gonna need to sprint from a coyote/bear/dinosaur/psychopath, but he doesn't get enough sleep and his eating habits are mostly 'is it remotely edible? gorge on it!'. Because he was seriously malnourished, possibly starving at points in the FAYZ, he may have future health problems later in life.
19. How does your character feel about doctors?
He's alright with them. He works in the Med Bay and watches them closely, so he trusts they have his best interests in mind.
20. If your character could be someone else, who would he want to be?
Someone stronger and more capable of defending themselves.
21. Does your character want power or authority of any kind?
Enough to protect himself, certainly.
22. Describe the nature and intensity of your character's religious feelings.
He has no respect for religion of any kind. He will openly mock the religious beliefs of others and finds prayer almost insulating in its, to him, total idiocy.
23. Pick three adjectives that best describe your character's inner nature.
Fearful, isolated, clever.
24. Pick three adjectives that best describe your character's outer manner.
Paranoid, sarcastic, intelligent.
25. What is your character's view on basic human nature?
Very dim. He hates other children and teenagers, distrusts adults and generally thinks just about anyone will go back on their word if given the right temptation.
26. How does your character view animals--as pests, pets, workers or dangers? Are pets viewed more
as family or as second-class citizens? How far would he go to protect or take care of an animal?
Food. He even nicknamed the cat 'Emergency Rations'.
27. How generous is your character toward strangers?
With his time?
His money?
His aid in times of crisis?
His attitudes?
His emotional support?
1. Not.
2. Not.
3. Barely.
4. Not.
5. Practically non-existent.
28. How easily does your character relate to others?
Not well or easily. He's incredibly distrustful and assumes the worst of everyone. He's only made one true positive, meaningful relationship on Stacy so far and would, at this point, feel totally alone if he lost it. He pushes people away because caring about others makes him feel vulnerable and he's certain they'll hurt him. He likes to keep his ring of friends as tight and small as possible, and can be almost sociopathic in his lack of empathy (he's not, though).
29. Does your character prefer adventure or security?
Security. Adventure is scary.
30. Is your character a dreamer, or are his feet firmly planted on the ground?
Despite the outlandish conspiracy theories, he's more practical than whimsical.
31. What was the last medical problem your character had?
Dino-bite! On the foot!
