Part 1: The Basics

1. What is your full name?
Howard Jacob Bassem.

2. Where and when were you born?
Oceanside, California on December 23rd, 1995.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Lilah Teresa Bassem and Richard Terrance Bassem, office manager for some marketing firm and an electrician. I don't remember Mom's maiden name. She was driven, I guess, and didn't like that I sassed off so much. My dad was quiet and had a really dry sense of humor. Mom liked vegging out in front of the TV after work and Dad did all the cooking, but Mom said it evened out since she did all the child care.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
None, just annoying older cousins. They were good for burning CDs from, though.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I live with my cat and Kanoe Zouichi in the Susono Inn. There are a few other tenants, but I don't really talk to them much besides Jr. and sometimes to tell Alan to leave me alone. It's nice to hear people up at all hours, though. And I keep most of my stuff at the Warehouse, besides clean clothes and a toothbrush and the stuff I carry with me.

And also, I'm in a giant spaceship.

6. What is your occupation?
I'm a field medic and training in nursing in the Medical Bay. I also work part-time salvaging, refurbishing, reworking and transporting materials in the city, too.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I'm human, fifteen years old and pretty short and skinny. Dark skin, dark eyes, dark hair - I like to keep it short because it's low-maintenance and it feels sort of soft that way. I wear just normal clothes, t-shirts and sneakers and hoodies and stuff like that. I like clothes with pockets. I have a few scars but most of them are under my clothes or shoes, like the ones on my feet from dinosaurs and coyotes thinking I look like an awesome snack.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Middle class, probably. We didn't have a ton of money but we lived in a house in a decent neighborhood and weren't ever worried about utilities or anything. We don't seem to have classes on Stacy, at least not in the same way.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Sometimes I get migraines, but I haven't had one in a while and that's about it. I'm not really strong, though, because of my size.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right, but I can write with both hands.

11. What does your voice sound like?
I don't really like my voice. It's sort of high-pitched and still cracks a lot. I swear Stacy's using her weird time travel powers to make puberty last forever for me. It's her secret conspiracy agenda.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
"hella", "super", "man", "I guess", "totally", "so there's that", "whatever"

So basically I'm a teenager, I guess.

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Right now? Pocketknife, lockpicks, flashlight, lighter, granola bar, swiss army knife, shoelaces, housekeys, pen, iPod, earbuds, and a little notepad. Sometimes I carry some of that in my backpack or kit, though, and I usually have at least one of those on me.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I chew things a lot, especially pieces of leather or rubber or shoelaces. I bite my lips. I drum my fingers a lot, especially on my teeth. I tend to crack my neck and tilt my head a lot. People have mentioned I'm pretty animated. I don't use people's actual names if I can help it.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Uneventful and too short. I wasn't really a happy kid, though. I didn't get along with a lot of other kids and hated going to school.

16. What is your earliest memory?
I had a stuffed rabbit I really liked when I was little. I can't remember what it was named, but I have this really distinct memory of watching my mom put it in the washing machine and being really upset about it, and her trying to distract me with a cookie or a candy or something. I don't remember getting the rabbit back, though.

17. How much schooling have you had?
I didn't finish middle school. My science teacher vanished into mid-air during another boring lecture on the scientific method.

18. Did you enjoy school?
Not even a little. I hated every single minute of it.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
I learned most of them myself, either with self-training, reading textbooks or just figuring things out. I learn best by watching people do things and imitating it, or building things and taking them apart. All my medical stuff I learned from the experienced people in med bay, though.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Not really. I read comic books but it wasn't like I wanted to be a superhero or anything.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Me and my parents mostly got along okay, no big fights or anything, but they didn't really pay much attention or deal with me much once I started causing trouble. I didn't get along at all with my cousins because they were jerks who pushed me around, except my oldest cousin Shawna because she mostly just ignored me. I was cool with that. I guess my aunts and uncles and grandparents were okay, but we only ever really saw my aunt Nia out of all of them, for family trips with the cousins.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to run a business. I didn't really care which kind, but I liked the idea of making my own schedule and hiring all my friends and not dealing with people I didn't like. Now I know that that isn't how it works at all.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Videogames, playing basketball by myself, doodling, arcade games. I'm really, really good at arcade games. Board games and electronic games like Bop It, too.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I wasn't as sarcastic when I was a kid, but I was kind of shy and really bad at sports and team games. I probably used to be a bit more trusting. I don't remember.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Hell no. In sixth grade I got in good with Orc, though, and we were best friends since then. He's sort of the yin to my yang, you know? I'm the smart one, he's the strong one. He's the emotional one and I'm the cold one. We just fit. And we spent all our time together, and he had some buddies I hung out with too.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Haven't had one yet, not looking for one.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Still a virgin. No desire to change that.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
The FAYZ, mostly, but I guess getting kicked around at school when I was little made me as sarcastic and antisocial as I am now. I didn't really fit in, so I stopped trying after a while and stopped with the trying to make friends crap. I don't really see the point in being nice to people I don't know and it's probably because I learned that young.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Probably the FAYZ, unfortunately. You kind of can't get away from it. My life would be a lot easier if I could just forget the whole thing.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Probably not any one person. I guess Orc, maybe. Or Zou. Maybe my parents. I don't tend to think about that sort of stuff much.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Haven't died yet!

32. What is your greatest regret?
I'd rather not talk about it. Are you sure this is confidential?

...Orc killed a kid and I covered it up. Probably that.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
That. I mean, I'm not sure if it was evil because I don't think it actually hurt anyone, but...

I mean, could we not?

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Sort of. I was too young for anything to go on an official rap sheet, but I got hauled into the sheriff's office a few times when I was younger. Just shoplifting and graffiti and that sort of thing. They always just gave me a talking-to and had my mom pick me up.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Running away from those dinosaurs. Maybe. Maybe the zekes. Maybe when Zou almost choked me when he thought he was Nuon. I get scared a lot, okay?

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
Confidential, right? I mean, you promised confidential.

Orc hit me in the face and busted my nose, and I still covered up that murder. Because I was scared and confused and didn't know what else to do. And then that little brat on Galilee had to poke at that in front of Zou and my crewmates.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
No FAYZ. Hey, you didn't say it would be something I'd change that I did.

38. What is your best memory?
Getting my cat to purr. Me and Orc marathoning kung fu movies at my house. Hanging out at the theme park with Zou. I mean, my life hasn't been all doom and gloom, right?

39. What is your worst memory?
Orc's last bender in the FAYZ. I went looking for him even though we were supposed to be under quarantine. I already told you what happened when I found him.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I like to think 'realistic', but people say I'm pretty cynical.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Everyone disappearing again. Being eaten alive. Being eaten period. Being left totally alone. They're not fun, alright?

42. What are your religious views?
Fuck religion.

43. What are your political views?
I don't really have any. I think the public should know what's going on so they can make their own decisions and mind their own business.

44. What are your views on sex?
Ew.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I don't know. I've never killed anyone. But I think it's okay if it saves more people than die, or if you're hurting someone in self-defense. And accidents happen sometimes.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Probably torture and kill someone who'd never done anything to them, just for kicks.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Not really. I think there are sometimes people who just go together, but I don't believe in looking for 'The One' or anything. Then again I don't think abut romance much.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Security. Knowing you can handle yourself if things go south. Maybe one or two close friends that you know you can trust.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
Depends on who I'm with. I have some secrets I like to keep to myself, and I don't really like to seem weak or anything since that makes me vulnerable.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I don't care if you're sentient, if you're a giant bug you're going to give me the creeps. It just happens that way. Other than that I'm pretty laid-back about that kind of thing. Not to be That Guy, but my friends are zombies and monsters and synthetic humans and sometimes we don't even have much in common.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
No, not really. Pretty much anything I can think of, I can think of at least one situation where I could be coerced into doing it. The last thing I'd do is betray a friend, though.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
One of my friends. That's why I don't keep many of them.
