Playing Ketchup (pronounced “catch-up” not “cat soup”). And this will be a long deal because it’s been awhile…….
Wednesday: Got a checking account / did errands, then Ms. Manda came over to roll out sugar cookie dough and cut out Christmas things for the hell of it. Santa with an umbilical chord. My mom called me a bitch (irony dare I say?) so we went upstairs. Zach came to Charlotte for the evening!! So, we went to see Rob’s musical where there were last minute (bad) occopello decisions, unfitted clothing, slip-ups all over, but Rob + Weesa + Megan etc did marvelous! Zach had to leave to drive home, and we got visitors that just “happened to be driving by” (YEAH RIGHT) come up my driveway. So then I had to pack for Washington DC (*but really Fairfax) and do laundry loads very late at night.
Thursday: Woke up early to shower/make breakfast/ pack up the car + leave by 7am. For the most part, we had a pleasant ride, although no 8 hours isolated with my mom could ever be very good. The wake was later that night so we had to meet at this funeral home and everyone was acting torn about etiquette. For example, my mom has none. She took a picture of my grandmother in the casket. But it was walking on eggshells, it was hard to tell how everyone was doing. The priest was horrible and the whole procession over the few days just infuriated me. He had an impediment, had never met my grandmother, and really had no respect for her or her family and friends. After, I sat around to catch up with my cousins for a few strangled hours, then got ice cream and fell asleep immediately.
Friday: Once again, getting up early for the funeral and the rest of the services. It’s so very cold everywhere. It was a pathetic presentation of her life, once again disappointing. It was no more than a catholic mass with communion and all and worst of all… a limited eulogy… two minutes. After pal baring and such we all went out to this Italian restaurant for the rest of the afternoon and more catching up with Bridgett and Dillon. For the rest of the afternoon I tried to escape but my mom wouldn’t let me. She got her “brilliant idea” that the boys (Brian con goatee + My dad) could clean out our grandparents house and replace my taillight while we shopped… so we went shopping together at Fairoaks, and trips like that are slim to none. Sorbet stripety shirts, corduroys, silvery kangaroos, pink and black lace strapless dress, tank top, a gray bunny jacket, chandelier necklace, and a replacement VS pink perfume. Back at the homeland her new brilliant idea was to go through room-by-room deciding what she wanted. I found a picture of me at 6 in a huge tutu with my dad holding me, that’s all I wanted. My mom (:cough: daughter in law :cough:.) wanted the grandfather clock… Oh well. It was at this time that she decided to tell me that “she wasn’t really that good of a grandmother to you”. (Amanda had it snapped by saying, “Like she has room to talk?!”) Yeah. But by FAR the funniest yet most retarded thing my mom told me….
“When we lived in Chicago your grandmother would tell me ’You know, if you got me tickets to Oprah I would come to Chicago.’ and then I would think to myself “What about the Cailin and Brian show??!! Those tickets are free!!”
I rolled around laughing until she walked out of the room. Later on we met up with TD at Chiles where I found out it sucks to work on commission and that my senior exit topic is in no way narrowed down. As I knew. Finally, we went to the Taegles to watch Bowling For Columbine but I fell asleep half way through. I need to watch movies in the middle of the day.
Saturday: Driving back through the network of VA was hellish. I would rather not talk about it. But but but!! Later in the day we finally got to King so I was dropped off in Zachary arms and got to play with Laura and have her find the magic key to twist into Zach’s arm, I told him stories and avoided DDR :P, drove around little brothers who tape themselves…. Haha nevermind. But the time came!!!! On the road again. We got to Ace’s Basement at maybe 8:30 for the Gloria Record!! (and One Amazin Kid, One Six Conspiracy and Self Portrait) It was pleasant to see so many people I didn’t expect, the Strunks would have been like 5 trillion times more than enough. But but but! We left for a picnic and more stories and came back for One Amazin Kid which I’ll never grow tired of, and Self Portrait which is REALLY Finch in disguise. The Gloria Record was just this cloud, simply the. Best. Set. I have ever seen heard and experienced. Yeah, I’d say it was more of an experience than anything else. Blown completely away. And even though Hannah thought Bret was being dorky I thought it was cute how into-it he was!! Everything was synchronized, almost choreographed, no missed beats, piano keys, drum stutters or tambourine shakes, it moved. It was crazy but completely put together. The way home was delayed by 50 centers strolling the streets scantily clad. I crawled into Zach’s lap and just slept, mouse.
Sunday:Rude awakenings!!!! We played transformers with Laura who is also my new adopted sister I think. What an angel. Then chocolate chip waffles that his mom made and some animatrix before the ride home in which I rolled around tickled by Modest Mouse who are my friends when I have none, and got Zach addicted I hope. At my house I cut his hair with my style scissors upstairs and hair spread like iron fillings on the floor! He looks the same but now he can see! Then frying veggies and pouring tears over onions, throwing the silver wear drawer at the mechanic repitious parrot, and cutting out shapes from tortillas for quesadillas! Playing with Rosie and starting Photoshop, Thank you weekend for being fulfilling.
Monday: My mom decides that I’m “not allowed to drink coffee in the mornings anymore.” I threw a fit and rambled fits of fury. So I fasted in pissed-off mode. I don’t feel like talking about that really either, I am right and that’s that.
I can't swim so I dog paddle.
I can't swim so I DOG PADDLE.
I'm down on the water.

I don't know so I don't bother.
Then off to the first day of swim practice….. ugh. Is all I have to say. But the Madalyn, Holly and Cailin lane will rule all others, it’s a safe bet. Put your money where it’s at. I thought I was supposed to see Caroline today. Boo. Also, I’m really worried sick about Ryan. What else. Make sure that I submit NCSU app by Saturday Plz!!
