Kentucky!

I have started to plan my trip to Kentucky.  I am driving down with my mom to see my birthmother, Tammy, and her two sons.  I haven't seen them in over a year, so I'm absolutely thrilled.  My mom and I are spending a full weekend with them.  My brothers are ten and thirteen, and I affectionately refer to them as my fan club--they absolutely adore ( Read more... )

wow. all that family seems overwhelming. well you certainly are lucky in that you're obviously loved.

when are you leaving? (that was a totally neurotic question. I'm wondering how far ahead you plan for that kind of trip. I'm so weird.)

July 5th.

Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right?

I go down for the wedding September 15th, which will suck, because I absolutely abhore flying alone. I need more entertainment than I can provide myself.

I'm adopted also. I don't really have/want a relationship with my mom and I'm glad that you do. :)
I wish I could be more like you because it is hard for me to even call my siblings anything more than "my bio-mom's kids"

I always kind of looked at it as, basically, these circumstances were out of our control. They grew up always knowing about me... so it's been an easy relationship with them.

My birthfather's sons, on the other hand, will be a more difficult relationship. They're eight and four and don't know about me yet...

Haha. It's always kind of been the big mystery in my life. Probably because there was never any secret behind my bio mom and my adopted dad was away on business all the time--I felt like I never had a dad.
