BNF Brawl/HanaKimi & Mars/Interest Meme <3

So, uh, if any of you is into slightly less than canon RPGs, bnf_brawl? In which characters from different fandoms compete to become the biggest BNF by writing fanfic about each other. :D There should be more Naruto in this RPG! Especially some of the Sand kids, Kiba, or Hinata. I kind of want to play Temari, but I want someone else to play her more. I'd ( Read more... )

mars is actually somehow, strangely, RLYRLY good. I own the whole thing and found it to be more addicting as it went on, despite the OMGSOTRAJIK backstory. I was really surprised. also, I need to reread it like whoa.

also, have you seen hachikuro 63? I've been looking at it since yesterday and I still don't know what the hell's going on.

Yes! The first volume was really not that engaging, what with the over-the-top bullying and the stock characters, etc., and then they all somehow grow fat with personality and you're all "WTF, when did this get awesome?" I get frustrated with them all sometimes (and their "Woe is me I am damaged!" line && the heaps of awful things in their pasts and present), but I have a lot of affection for all the characters.

The manga? No! I have no idea where to get it from, actually; I've only read the stuff listed on the communities. I won't ask what's happened, though, since you don't know. :D (But who are you worrying about!)

BTW, are you game for the interest meme?

me too. it's kind of weird, though, cos I feel like I should be screaming at them and hating them and not relating at ALL and just laughing at how over-the-top it is. AND I'M NOT. I can't help but love everybody.

re: what's happened, based on this past chapter. I think shuuji and rika have a Thing. and I think ayu was crying in front of nomiya, but I'm not sure if it was nomiya? I have not yet met him. and ayu was also talking to someone else and then mayama came in and was crazy and mayama and ayu left and were talking (ABOUT WHAT RAR RAR RAR I WANT TO KNOW). and maybe mayama knows about the possible-shuuji-thing?

SEE I CANNOT DO THIS SHIT WITHOUT A TRANSLATION. DAMMIT FANDOM. WORK AT THIS.

also: totally.

I think that, while it's over-the-top, it's also very easy to relate to? I mean, comparing it with HanaKimi--most of us don't move countries and cross-dress (or even just move schools) because we admire someone, but I think a huge number of people can really relate to feeling like an awful person sometimes because we have violent urges, or wanting to be invisible like Kira, or something. It's exaggerated, but their feelings are also really easy to empathise with (so I at least feel sucked in on a more personal level).

! Shuuji and Rika should DEFINITELY have a thing! And I say that completely without bias! Man, I want a translation for that, too, post-haste. Re: Nomiya, have you watched the episodes he's in yet? Or do you mean that you haven't seen him in the manga?

There are so many I want to ask about So, what is it that you like about the virgin-whore dichotomy? :D

Listening to bizarre music? What counts as bizarre, and what makes it awesome? Please babble on! :D

Well, I actually know v. little about music (despite having been made to play multiple instruments by my parents D:) so I kind of listen to anything and everything and in no particularly defined order so it's a little bit of that (although perhaps it would be more truthful to say: listening to eclectic music, instead) and it's also about my love for silly songs and sheer ridiculousness. It kind of all comes down to what makes me laugh. :D ...I seriously have nothing to say about music, I'm really terribly ignorant. ^^;; And I like using the word bizarre. ^___^

Bizarre is a way better word than eclectic, mostly because it isn't used three times an hour on HGTV whenever they want to talk about someone's house. :D

Please tell me about your feelings for Malcolm X!

My interest started when I read his autobiography, and since then, he's been a hero of mine. He could be a dick, and he was an extremist, but he wasn't afraid to admit he was wrong, and he had an iron will and zero tolerance for shit. You really don't get too many complete and total badasses in real life, but Malcolm was one of them.

Absolutely. :) There are things I disagree with him on, but I definitely admire his mind and his will and his focus. Cool guy.

Sending packages to you is always so exciting, because I am never sure when/if you will receive them! :D

Hurrah for house arrangements! Last semester/year you had me quite worried, what with the giant cockroaches and all.

And you find out a fortnight after I get them, too! :D I swear there was a time when I posted more than twice a month.

Haha, this one will possibly be even worse on the student living front: I have linoleum flooring in my bedroom, and the kitchen is open to all comers and not exactly attached to the main body of the house. It will be a real adventure! Hopefully without cockroaches, spiders, or ants.

the world was a brighter place when you did. :(

Yes, that is the sort of adventure everyone could do without, I think. Except if you're Shino, but I think even he would object to unexpected arthropodian visitors. :( I, um. Hopefully it is cheap? Now you are making me think of Honey and Clover (but without the German exchange student who runs around giving people slices of bratwurst...?).

also, raising hand for the meme! (I have nothing intelligent to add to yours, I am afraid, although Sakura as an oto-nin = <3.)

When I rewatch Weiss, I should post about that. Spread the pain!

Shino would probably object to sharing a house with them until they were all on intimate, know-my-name-and-live-in-my-body terms, I'm sure. My new place is both cheap(ish) and a five minute walk from uni. I could afford a more expensive place and still eat meat, but I'm stingy and also have to support a $25/week chocolate habit. Also I find living situations like this hilarious, even if it's me.

Dude, you've completely eliminated shared interests. :D I'd ask about koutarou&utgard-loki's literary meetings, but. Please explain "attacking people with sitars"!
