I had meant to post a bunch of comment meme and summergen fic that I never got around to archiving here, and then post them in one to hoodie_time, but I gave up about half-way through. :S So I'm super pleased you stumbled upon this! Maybe someday soon, I'll pull it together enough to finish the task at hand, but that day is not today!

I've been AWOL for awhile, cruised by your journal and was thrilled to read this wonderful fic! Oh my, how you have captured the essence of Dean's year before hell! He wants to prepare Sam (but how can he?), prepare himself (but how can he?), wants Sam to be OK after he's gone (thus the tussle to see if Sam is strong enough, though just as much for Dean to check his own strength). Dean is drowning literally and figuratively as he struggles with impending doom.

Dean's pitiful idea that he can meet the hellhounds in isolation on the beach, defiant to the end, absolutely heartbreaking!

And Dean's helplessness, like drowning over and over again, poor Dean!

Masterfully done! This fic gets put in my favorites file. Thanks so much!
