i goddamn lousy email. that really sucks. i hope there is something to recognise him since he sounds like he was a benefit to cornell. that's so terrible he was almost finished with this hell we call school. i'm so very glad that you are fine, but i'm sorry that he is gone. i can't really imagine what it must be like. but it does make me glad that everyone i love is fine as far as i know.

im glad you're ok too! how close was it to your building?! he probably died before the fire actually got him... smoke inhalation strikes first. So if you were worried about him suffering or what not, he probably was unconcious for it. (unless he ran out of the building caught on fire... then... it was probably the fire that did it) im sorry... im not very good w/ the whole death thing. Also im sure your freind has heard of his death. Although it is very kind of you to think to tell her. im sure she'd be comforted to hear from you rather than some unconsoling crappy e-mail. im sorry for your loss... but it seems like he lead his life based on his passion, so i doubt he had any regrets.

Hi Mike, It's never fun to get this kind of news, especially when you hear about it over the phone or web. The best thing for Katie would be for someone to call her mom or a close friend at home and have that person tell her the news in person. If you know the city and last name you can try calling 411. She will appreciate hearing from you, even indirectly.

Don't be surprised if this hits you hard too - you don't have to be close to someone to be affected by their death. It's also okay to NOT feel anything. There is no right or wrong way to feel. And give all your loved ones a hug. Here's one from me {{hugs}}
