As everyone has said, you chill with a beautiful crowd of friends. Damn you for that. But somehow the only thing that stuck with me on the first scan through was "Woohoo! An MC5 t-shirt!" Yeah, I'm a dork.
i cant believe your a MC5 fan, barely anyone knows them.
the kid whos wearing the shirt, corey, and i went to this vintage poster store the other day and the mc5 posters from '66 were like $1000. wow, you are cool just for knowing them. <333
Yeah. There are a lot of good bands no one knows. I've especially got MC5 on the brain recently because I'm working on a term paper on the birth of the punk rock scene so I've been pulling out a lot of older stuff of that genre that I haven't listened to in too long. But the thing is it's for a course on the history of New York City, so it's hard enough weaving the Stooges into the paper in terms of the stage-show element of everything. Other detroit bands (even ones that gained the degree of fame that MC5 enjoyed) are nearly impossible to mention. Though now that I think about it more, I may be able to bullshit a connection to the same ideologies Suicide had... I mean, it's a shame not being able to mention them at all.
(Also: where's this poster shop? Even though a price like that sounds out of my league, I may have to check the joint out anyway...)
the poster shop is on 8th street, its on the second floor of a building and you have to buzz up. they have all the rare posters its awesome. not all of them are expensive though. i forget what the name is, but i think its across the street from johny rocket diner
