Oh how it pains me to witness our beloved LJ fall into disuse! Scenes of post-apocalyptic cities spring to mind. And yet somehow I doubt we really care, what with facebook being so enthralling and all. There are two reasons I miss LJ though ( Read more... )

It's tragic isn't it? I too miss LJ, but somehow am never able to drag myself away from Facebook to write anything!!

Though sometimes I think that the days of whinging on LJ are over now that I've sorted my life out, and hey, there's nobody left to comment on anything anymore anyway. And we know it's all about the comments really... I still check to see if anyone's still writing, and alas, am usually sadly disappointed...

Btw - thankyou for the car park the other day!! How funny!! :)

lol it was so funny, because i'd just been doing the stupid postgrad induction course in Napier, and I suppose the location brought back memories and since arriving there at 8am that morning i'd had 'big waves of love' stuck in my head, so i'd been wandering around all day hearing your voices and suddenly there you were! I was actually singing it to myself as i was backing out. How's that for serendipity.

It's worth mentioning that while i agree from some respects, the posts I really enjoyed were not the angsty ones or memes or self-righteous ones, but the ones that I or others posted about relatively impersonal topics that we wanted to discuss. Many of my opinions about vegitarianism, global warming and literature etc are livejournal-based!

Oh how boring was that induction course? I did the one in Feb, and felt like stabbing myself in the frontal lobes by the end of it.

Oh and I know that you meant the actual interesting posts were well...the most interesting - I was just making an observation that the majority of posts I made/read on my friends list were generally the aforemention whingy types...cut out the complaint posts, and there isn't an awful lot left! I do miss long LJ discussions though, both reading and occasionally writing. Sometimes I think that I'm losing the ability to form cohesive sentences without LJ...

Boring doesn't begin to describe it. I completely covered both sides of the 'feedback' form - it started with 'For GOD'S sake, mic your speakers, we can't hear th... CAN'T HEAR THEM. And it's not very impressive that the free pens you supplied us die after 9 and a half words. In future, PLEASE try to select charismatic speakers. I know that's not really the point but it would make the experience more interesting...' and went downhill from there. I ended up writing a story about a pot-plant on the back of the powerpoint handout.

Agreed though. Where has all our perspicacity got to? Somehow facebook doesn't really demand much in the way of good literacy skills. Ah well, at least now we have Google Chrome to spell check everything we type for us :P

'World of writing letters', seriously? I'm still waiting to receive one from you, Mr Liar. Also, you don't even miss LJ because of my weird and scary comments, I'm so disappointed! This LJ was the place where I learnt to know you better and which made me like you. Too bad it didn't have a bark to carve a heart...
