I used to play the cello, and often find that I REALLY REALLY miss it. It was that instrument that led me to working at the Boston Symphony Orchestra (and some of my craziness, too, but that's another story for another day), but I was afforded the opportunity to see Itzak Perlman play a Bach violin concerto (for free) (and he walked RIGHT PAST ME!), and tons of other soul stirring classical music. But, so much of my illness was rampant during that time, it's taken me a while to get back INTO classical. Slowly. Your post reminded me of how much I love and miss it. And, you're right...I listened to ALOT of Mozart when I was manic (except for his Requiem that was for when I was depressed. I'd lie on my bed, in the dark, for hours, with it on repeat).
