Oh no, sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear that something so awful has happened to you! Perhaps you could put up a dryer (don't know if that's the right word, sorry) like the ones they use on construction sites to get the dampness out of the walls?
You really don't deserve shit like this. *huggles*
Thanks, hon. Yeah, we're doing everything we can to dry things out, but...it's not looking too good right now. *sigh* We're still waiting for the insurance adjuster - not sure what they'll say. I'm sort of stressed right now, it's just so depressing. I don't know...I have to just wait to see what happens now. I think it'll be a long while before things are anywhere near normal. *headdesk*
*snuggles you*
P.S. On a positive note - I was really, really happy about your temp job...I hope that they can come up with something more permanent for you when your four weeks end. I know that you've really been wanting an office job. *hugs you tight*
My parents' house 'drowned' several times before they sold it. After the second time (I think) they decided against carpet in favour of, uh. What's the word - tiles? :/
Yeah, I'm beyond gleeful, especially since it means regular payment even if I don't get a new temp job right away, which is just awesome. Now I'll just have to convince the agency for work and stuff that I need money even though I have a job, and everything should be set. Of course, that's easier said than done, but I shall be optimistic for once. :D
Yeah, there won't be carpet again, I'll say that. I'm just trying to figure out what we can do with the floor...what our options are. *sigh* How awful for your parents! Water in bad places is just such a mess. Funny that we can't live without it, but that it can cause so much damned damage. Eh.
Yay! for you being optimistic for a change. I'll be crossing everything that I can that things go well. You deserve that, god only knows. If only you could recover what the bastards didn't pay you for your month of work. I hope that they don't get away with that. That would make such a huge difference. *sigh* Well, I'll just keep hoping that that situation is resolved the way it should be - and quickly, too. *nods firmly*
