We had a good class on Friday - those of us who showed up.  Only half the class was there.
Was it because Sensei pushed us so hard in the heat Wednesday?
Was it because it was our first class on Friday night instead of Saturday morning?
Was it because several people are on holiday?

You've got J's grade mixed up. San is three. Go is five. Yon is four. Is he sandan, testing for yondan?

Sticky swords sounds like fun. We got to play with some short sword stuff.

I think the best thing for even development is to take up a bilateral weapon. :-)

I totally messed up the ranking with J. :-)
I was positive he was testing for Sandan. He is currently Nidan.

If not a bilateral weapon, then bilateral training. For every other weapon I have learned, it is emphasized that we train with both hands. You know. Just in case one of them is cut off. That way you can still fight (though I'm guessing a lot of the fight would be taken out of me if I leave an arm lying on the ground).
