When you break up with someone/they break up with you, you're friends are supposed to have your back, right?

So why is it that that happened to me 9 months ago and there are still people who treat me differently?

At first, I figured it was just some awkwardness and it would pass, now I want some answers.

Dude, that girl was radically different once you two were through. All of your mutual friends are going to associate any increase or change in her more destructive behaviors with you, and I can't blame them.

So basically, its acceptable to hold me completely responsible for the negative change in her life? I can't say I agree with that in the least. It seems somewhat far-fetched that 9 months after the fact, anyone would still be holding a grudge against me, let alone people who I was friends with before I ever even knew her face.

Also, I may be exagerating, but I'd assume you know about 1% of the the people I know, not putting you in an ideal position to pass judgement on them.

I've needed to do a lot of work on myself in the time since Kirsten broke up with me. It just sucks to know that, no matter what I do, I will always be a douchebag in some people's eyes.
