Budgie - "Breadfan"

The legendary Budgie, mighty in everything but record sales. Like most people, I first heard this song when Metallica released their cover version back in 1988. It's one of the all-time great rock covers, and in some aspects improves on the original, but on balance I think I prefer the clarity of Budgie's classic power trioNoting that Breadfan ( Read more... )

Oh come on. Just look at the mighty chart-topping singles of 1973: "Welcome Home" by Peters and Lee, "Twelfth of Never" and "Young Love" by Donny Osmond, "The Puppy Song" by David Cassidy and no less than two Gary Glitter classics. Some people would gladly kill to have been born in a year like that.
