A new All Black haka made its debut at the Tri-Nations tournament on Saturday. I hope I get to see footage of it at some point; the lyrics read wonderfully in Maori!

Edit: there are videos at AllBlacks.com but they played really jerkily for me. Will have to find a non-streaming format (or make my own).

that was so cool -- i watched it in the 56K version, and although it was pixelated, it played cleanly.

the best part, though, was the interview with the all blacks' captain about the new haka -- under "Kapa O Pango."

i wish there was some equivalent for my own culture to the haka...

and you know, watching the haka is one of the moments when i most intensely wish i could be a guy so i could do it too -- the old "whakatane" moment :)
