ITV2 has shared a trailer for 4.01* (and judging from some scenes, I believe 4.02 is included too).

I'm super excited because MOAR ELENA! And I liked the flashes of Elena struggling with everything because it gives me hope that Elena's vampire journey may actually be about her as opposed to being about how Damon and Stefan feel about it/cope with it. (Though it's JP, so I'm probably giving the trailer too much credit.)

And I feel so bad for Jeremy because this is the exact opposite of what he wanted for his sister and it's something he (albeit unintentionally - he had no idea would happen) helped set in motion. I really hope that he and Elena get some great brother-sister moments from this.

And it looks like the pastor doesn't know that Elena's in transition and is trying to "rescue" her from the vampires. (I more or less approve of rescuing her from the Salvatores tbh, though I long for the day when she rescues herself. Or at least when one of them tries to tell her what to do or doesn't listen to her and she throws them through the wall.)

Seconding the love for the Elena-focus in this trailer - Nina's almost convulsive, compulsive physicality in these flashes is a shock to the gut. (Here begins the deathwatch for the new POC.) I have to admit I was hoping for a more dramatic realization on the part of the Originals for Elena's vampirism - or rather, one in which she wasn't incessantly victimized and agency-less again as it kind of looks like she is - because of all the people who've abused her, their power (somewhat excepting Elijah) has been in the end so total and destructive. Plus I shipped Rebekah and Elena really hard back in the day and it's unpleasant to watch where they chose to go with it. UR BEIN A HYPOCRITE, REBEKAH.

I read Elenas journey will be harder then Carolines and that Elena will have many problems keeping blood down, so Iam not sure shes going to stay a vamp...
