Sorry for the lack of postiness. I got my ged recently and had a few of my students in from PA for a week, so it's been a time of celebration. This was a request, I've been meaning to write it for a while now

I would add to that: drink water, water and more water!!
Our cooker is broken at the moment and I am resenting the amount of frying I am having to do where usually I would bake. Another tip instead of frying though, is microwaving. You'd be amazed at how many things you can microwave, even eggs.
you're right on the water, actually. can't believe I didn't think of that.
I'm not such a fan of microwaving. I steam things in it, but that's about it. it is great for eggs. My fear is that I tell people to microwave, and they then immediately turn to that premanufactured crap, thinking a microwave isn't a valid cooking technique.
I would also add: Make sure to eat slowly and to put your fork down between bites, and don't do things while eating.
American's are so focused on work that one of the reasons we eat so badly is we eat fast and tend to over stuff ourselves when we do eat. Eating slowly allows your body to better tell you when its reached that full point...
this is true. also goes with the smaller portions tho. Restaurants are pretty well forced to give monster portions, and they're more expensive as a result. It's counterproductive, and nobody ever has room for dessert.

You can bake things in there (as long as they fit) that you would put in the regular oven, and it works almost as well.
