Years ago, I was trying to figure out how to buy a gift for a friend (who I found kind of hard to get a handle on at times). So, I bought seven items, wrapped each individually, and put them all in a box for her. I told her there was one gift for every day of Christmas week.
I was able to learn how to buy a gift which would please her by watching her reaction to each of them. After that, it was easy.
How rude of me, I didn't know you added me on LJ. I've added you back.
I think the Christmas in July thing had to do with school being out and kids going to camp - it makes for great theme days at camp. At least that's what we did every damn summer... the baby powder on the porch and turkey dinner, etc.

Oh I must have been a set up for a sigh
A mocking bird was whistling a sentimental tune
And I didn't know enough to come in out of the moon
