I haven't been knitting as much in the past few months because 1) it's bloody hot outside 2) I keep falling asleep on the subway 3) or else I am reading on the subway instead
It took me probably 4 months to finish these socks because I got bored and put it away for awhile, but when I picked it back up, I finished it within 2 weeks.
The pattern is call "Knotty Pines" and it was from a sock pattern booklet that I bought off ebay:
It was hard to show the details, but here's the original pattern and photo (it's the sock on the right):
Now, the
rogue, in pieces:
Detail of the sleeve:
Detail of the hood:
The body is knitted in the round, and where the side seam would be is done in a cable:
You can find a lot of Rogue pictures on
Google.
And as a side note, I want to mention that the Rogue was photographed against the
Ty Pennington comforter that I got from work for free. Somehow the warehouse sent up an extra set and my boss told me to keep it. Ah, the perks of my job.
Right now I'm knitting the
Honeymoon Cami to match the wrap cardy I made last year:
But I'm going to change the neckline on the cami so it's not such a deep plunging V.
And I have these projects planned:
3/4 length sleeve pullover - I have a space dyed ribbon yarn that would be perfect for this.
Remember these socks?
I hated them because they were so bulky and hard to knit, so I frogged them and will be making
this cap sleeve top instead. I have to buy another ball of yarn though, so I hope the yarn shop will have the same dye lot in stock. I might add some interest along the hem - there's a picot edging option, but from what other knitters have said, they didn't like how it looks. It's a
very popular project with knitters, it seems.
Yeah, I seem to be knitting summer and winter projects in the wrong seasons... well, at this rate, maybe these will be done in time for Spring 2007.
