When you come back home after three months, it's almost like you never went away at all. The last 12 weeks now seem like a blur, a distant dream. A good dream or a bad dream? It is amazing how we still refer to our parents' house as 'home' after living away for all these years.
Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur had famously remarked "Home is person we come back to."

As a workaround, one can speak of the past and the future by appending a suitable qualifier. So "I will work" could become, for instance, "I work tomorrow". Je travaille demain. It doesn't sound very nice, but the French do understand it. Really.
