MY ONE AND ONLY STATEMENT!

Feb 13, 2005 13:45

I'm so tired of people being angry at me for being supportive, and not knowing what I'm supportive of or why. So this song, by Chely Wright, is the closest I've come to being able to explain it. It very well may be the only, and the closest to, a political statement any of you will ever hear from me ( Read more... )

perhaps that lady's relatives were tortured or killed by the US Marines? Looking at both sides means seeing the possibilities on both sides, being a US Marine should not automaticly make people respect you, same with anything, especially in a democracy. As for the US marines giving us freedom, the response would be at who's expense. Those are just my opinions. And then again, the lady could have been an enviromentallist, and didn't like SUVs, or maybe the guy cut her off, because if you think about it it'd be pretty hard to conclude that someone is flipping you off just by looking at your bumper sticker.
p.s. i'm not angry at you for being supportive. it's that not many people have given me good logical reasons to be supportive.

THE POINT OF THIS SONG...*tries to breathe calmly* is that you should respect other peoples beliefs.

Chely didn't flip her back off, or rip on people who are anti-war. Her point is that she has her reasons, and you won't know them unless you ask. So don't hate her, just because she believes differently. That's all I ask also.

And I'm sorry, but its really fucking frusterating when no one else can just respect that. All I have is the knowledge that it's what I believe, and that no one else has to believe it but me. It would just be nice if other people would stop being assholes because we can't all think the same. INDIVIDUALTIY!

Damn. You rock. Thanks for the support. Hearing so much negativity is SO HARD, but I know I'm true to myself, so it doesn't quite matter. I truly appreciate your posts, though. You have no idea how much that means to me.

Thank you. There, of course, was some backlash from Flynn for posting on your entry. But you know, he is just so wrapped up in himself and what he wants. I don't think he is even capable of understanding your situation, and I really respect that you were able to stick to your convictions and do what you felt was true to yourself. You're my awesome chick of the month. :P
